A fresco painting by Michelangelo, which forms part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, painted in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. It illustrates the biblical creation narrative from the Book of Genesis in which God, barely formed from the void, reaches out to touch the hand of the man, Adam, who is about to be given life.
